A new two-floor school for Sri Kariambha High School, with three classrooms, a central stage, computer and science labs, a library, and separate facilities for girls and boys.
A Modern Campus for Every Child
A safe, permanent home for Sri Kariambha High School, where children have room to learn, experiment, read, play and perform. The new design goes beyond classrooms to include computer and science labs, a proper library, a stage for assemblies and events, and dignified sanitation for girls and boys.
Current Status
In November 2025, DW Consultants prepared the proposed plans for the ground and first floors, about 6,975 sq ft in total. The design includes three classrooms with a dais in each, a central stage, computer and science labs, a library, a sports room, and separate toilets and rest rooms for girls and boys.
The new ground floor and first floor plans are complete. Raising funds for construction is now the critical next step.
The New Floor Plans
The building is about 103 feet wide. On the ground floor, classrooms line the back of the building, with a 6-foot passage in front of them. The central stage sits at the front, with the third classroom on one side and the office on the other. A staircase leads up to the first floor, which holds the computer lab, the science lab and the library.

What the New Design Gives Our Children
1. Three Classrooms, Each With a Dais
- Two large classrooms of 30′2″ × 28′11″ (about 870 sq ft each), drawn with 24 double desks
- A third classroom of 30′3″ × 18′2″ (about 550 sq ft), drawn with 16 double desks
- Every classroom has a raised dais at the front so every child can see and hear the teacher
2. A Central Stage for the Whole School
- A 33′0″ × 22′4″ stage at the heart of the building, open above to the first floor
- Space for morning assembly, annual day, cultural programmes and community meetings
- Steps up from both sides, with a landscaped planter strip along the front edge
3. Labs and Library on the First Floor
- Computer lab with workstations along the walls, for digital literacy from an early age
- Science lab (9′6″ × 20′7″) for hands-on experiments instead of textbook-only science
- Library of 18′2″ × 30′3″ with eight reading tables and bookshelves along the walls
4. Separate Facilities for Girls and Boys
- Girls’ toilets and rest room at one end of the building, boys’ at the other end
- A rest room beside each toilet block for privacy and comfort
- Two separate toilets for teaching and office staff
5. Office, Staff Room and Waiting Area
- Principal’s room (11′10″ × 8′4″) beside a waiting area for parents and visitors
- Staff room (18′10″ × 8′4″) with workstations for five teachers
- Grouped together near the front entrance steps
6. Sports, Storage and Safe Movement
- A dedicated sports room (9′6″ × 28′11″) and a store room for equipment and supplies
- 6-foot-wide passages connecting every room, and four sets of entrance steps at the front
- An internal staircase leading up to the labs and library
